An emotional Ertugral bids Ajax farewell
It was a difficult decision to make but I could not ignore that opportunity of coaching a team that has qualified for the Champions League said Muhsin Ertugral.
The Turkish born coach was very emotional as he addressed the local media in his last press conference at Ikamva today. He said This was a very difficult decision to make because I am part of the Ajax family.
When I spoke to my CEO about the offer on the table they supported me and advised me in making my decision. Looked at this offer for a long time as it was always my ambition to coach a team in the Champions league and that the team is a Turkish based club makes this offer even harder to turn down.
I must say the Ajax Cape town management were fantastic in the understanding of the situation and encouraged me to follow my dream. I would like to thank all the staff and the Ajax fans for their support and I will always be thankful to the club for supporting me at this difficult time”, concluded Ertugral before breaking down during the Press Conference.
Muhsin leaves for Turkey this evening and will be on the bench at his new club, Sivasspor at the weekend.
